– What If You’re Not Tall Enough? –
Frank and Harold are two snake-friends who are visiting the fair. They are Bouncin’! Ridin’! Spinnin’! and a having a great time until they spot The Rattler roller coaster and they find out Harold isn’t tall enough to ride it. So they both decide to try different methods to help Harold work through that problem: different costumes and disguises, and stretching Harold to make him taller. Nothing seems to work. They both realize the only thing holding them back from riding The Rattler is the pig who does the measuring. So they figure out a way to still go on the ride.
Cons: I had a problem with this book. Never does the story explain why there are restrictions on some rides. And basically, the book portrays the pig as somewhat grumpy, as though he is the villain. This may seem as though I’m taking this story a bit too serious, but children do take things seriously. It felt as though this was something the snakes really wanted to do so it was okay to break the rules.
Pros: Cute until the ending. Bright colors that kids should really like.
